Encouraging Truths Devotional Series (Day #7)

You are God’s child … He adopted you and loves you deeply (Eph 1:5)

He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will … (Eph 1:5)

You are God’s child! He adopted you through your faith in Jesus. Let that sink in … you are the Lord Almighty’s child!

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 Jn 3:1 – NIV)

When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sonsAnd because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” (Gal 4:4-6)

Can you imagine how much He loves you now that you ARE His child!!

God loved you enough to die for you when you were His enemy!

But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! (Rom 5:8)

God loves you so much that He will sacrifice others for you!

Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and I love you, I will give people in exchange for you and nations instead of your life. (Isa 43:4)

God’s love for you is eternal! Psalm 136 alone tells us that 26 times!!!

“Though the mountains move and the hills shake, My love will not be removed from you and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says your compassionate Lord. (Isa 54:10)

Nothing can separate you from His love!

Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? … For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Rom 8:35, 38-39)

God’s love for you is so immense and intense that it is impossible to understand it in our human minds. That is exactly why Paul prays that the Ephesians would understand it.

I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Eph 3:17-19)

This one verse sums up God’s love for you better than any other.

As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. (Jn 15:9)

As a child of God, He now loves you more than you can ever fully understand!

And remember, once you become somebody’s child, you are always that person’s child. That means that your relation as God’s child is secure through Jesus Christ your Savior.

Take some time now thinking about being God’s child.

Think about what He did to adopt you as His child.

Think about how He will treat you now that you are His child.

Think about how He feels about you as His child.

Now bow your heart to Him in thanks, awe, and gratitude for what He did and what He does for you … His child!

Never forget that you are His child and He delights in you!

Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring you quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy. (Zeph 3:17)
