God’s Judgment…It Can’t Be Avoided!

Today someone asked me if I ever wrote about God’s judgment, as far as both believers and unbelievers. I was surprised after searching all my articles that I have not. I have preached/taught on this topic countless times. Hence, I will quickly post this. This subject is not overly complicated and at the same time extremely important.

First, all people will be judged by God. There is absolutely no avoiding it! It is an open and shut case!!

And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment (Heb 9:27)

And at judgment, both good and bad works will be evaluated…

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.  For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. (Eccl 12:13-14)

There are very different judgements, however, for God’s true children versus people that are not. I realize many are misinformed about the topic of who a real child of God is. Not everyone is a child of God. That’s the truth. The Bible is clear on the matter…”But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God‘ (John 1:12). The name that one must have faith in is Yeshua (Jesus) in order to be a true child of God. Do you qualify?

I implore you to be present at the Bema Seat Judgment only for God’s children, instead of the Great White Throne Judgment for those who are not. Here is the BIG and ETERNAL difference…

For true believers (adopted children of God)…this judgment is for rewards only…praise Him! This is called the Bema Seat Judgment (a.k.a. the Judgment Seat of Christ).

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.  (2 Cor 5:10)

GotQuestions.org describes this judgment in this way:
The judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). Resurrected (and raptured) believers in heaven will be judged for their works. Sin is not in view at this judgment, as that was paid for by Christ, but only faithfulness in Christian service. Selfish works or those done with wrong motives will be burned up (the “wood, hay, and stubble” of 1 Corinthians 3:12). Works of lasting value to the Lord will survive (the “gold, silver, and precious stones”). Rewards, which the Bible calls “crowns” (Revelation 3:11) will be given by the One who is “not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him” (Hebrews 6:10). For unbelievers, however, their judgment will result in condemnation and eternal punishment. There is no way out. If you are a participant in the Great White Throne judgment, your eternal destination is the everlasting lake of fire. Please, please, please avoid this at all costs!

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.  This is the second death, the lake of fire.  And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.  (Rev 20:12-15)

GotQuestions puts it this way:
The Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11–15). This final judgment of unbelievers for their sins occurs at the end of the Millennium, before the creation of the new heaven and earth. At this judgment, unbelievers from all the ages are judged for their sins and consigned to the lake of fire. [https://www.gotquestions.org/all-the-judgments.html]
If you are unsure in any way of your eternal destiny and what judgment you might be present at, please reach out to Reaching Higher Ministries. We will do everything that God enables us to do to help you get on the right eternal path, as “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death” (Prov 14:12). However, God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Isa 119:105). So then, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Prov 3:5-6).
